A Day in the Life: From Early Morning to Late-Night Musings
Have you ever wondered what a typical day looks like for someone on the other side of the world? Well, today, I'm going to take you through a day in my life, from the moment I groggily wake up to my late-night musings.
Morning Rituals
My day begins at 7 o'clock, which I consider to be my "late riser" day because most mornings, I'm up before 6 am. As soon as I wake, I reach for a refreshing glass of water. It's a simple habit that kickstarts my day on the right note. But today, there's a little twist. After my glass of water, I dive into the ancient practice of oil pulling, using coconut oil on my face. It's a process that takes about 20 minutes, so I take the opportunity to open my laptop and dive into the world of social media.

Nurturing My Rooftop Garden
Before delving into my work, I attend to my rooftop plants. I haven't been home for the past three days, so they've been neglected. The sight of dry, struggling leaves tugs at my heart. I water them and, in particular, give some TLC to a red vegetable plant that's on the verge of falling over. The transformation that water brings to these plants always amazes me.
Fasting and Celebrations
Today holds a special significance – it's Kojagari Lakshmi Puja, and both my wife and I are fasting. We were planning to visit my grandfather's house, where Tagore is expected to arrive around 11 o'clock for the puja. After a delightful array of pooja prasad, including luchi, khichuri, banana, cucumber, and malata naivedya pies, we sat down to eat. The khichuri was so good that I indulged a bit more than I should have, leading to a peaceful, mid-day nap.
Cricket Fever and a Brush with Danger
Watching the Bangladesh cricket match kept me glued to the screen, hoping for a victory.
In the evening, my wife and I went shopping at our favorite super shop, Golden Basket.
On our way home, we had a rather scary experience when our rickshaw narrowly squeezed between two trucks. It was a moment of relief when we finally made it home safely.
Work and Musings
Back at home, I devoted some time to editing an article on digital marketing. I had hoped to publish it, but the unreliable internet put a damper on my plans. Tomorrow is a new day, and I'll try again then.
As I continued my online endeavors, I stumbled upon a discussion about an old oak tree falling into someone's property, overrun by ants. It got me thinking about the importance of planting more trees, especially with our children, and the potential of harnessing solar energy to reduce our electricity consumption. The concept of using solar panels without the need for batteries intrigued me.
I also discussed this idea with my brother, but we were left feeling a bit puzzled about the logistics. It's a conversation that I plan to revisit with my elder brother tomorrow.
And that's how my day unfolds, from waking up to late-night musings. It's a blend of everyday routines, passions, cricket excitement, and thought-provoking ideas that keep my day eventful and engaging. It's amazing how the simplest of days can offer so much to ponder upon.
